Seremban, Negeri Sembilan state

In this story I will again use green background color for "things to see and do in Seremban".

Alrighty, back to English, according to our ratio obtained as a result of truly democratic election on my blog).

You know, once I tried to make a top-20 of places which I have visited so far, taking into consideration pretty unreliable and strictly subjective "overall feeling", which included my mood, weather, my feeling about "people friendliness", nature as well as more substantiate matters. Seremban didn`t make it to the list. Moreover suddenly it appeared that it took last place in the list of all places. Well... some place should take it eventually.
But despite all of this - there surely are things to do in Seremban. And I enjoyed some of them too. Just don't expect too much.

First thing was to find a place to stay. The number of places in Seremban is not numerous, the day was hot, but two people - a cheerful girl and a serious hindu man - showed me the way to the hotel, so I ended up in Sun Lun Yuk place, which had interesting combination - the shower in the room, and the rest of the restroom outside. Most of the town's population is represented by Chinese. So the thing I wanted to do was to find out what exactly is in these Chinese shops. So...

After that I undertook a walk around town, and  found was this temple as well as Lake Gardens, quite different from the one(s?) in KL. People were running around the lakes in the evening, so I thought of a nice morning jog too.

Residence of sultan of Negeri Sembilan. Style of architecture called "buffalo horn".

The Seremban State Secretariat, near the Lake Gardens, discovered in 1912.

Fantastic place for a stroll! Lake Gardens.

Football game between Seremban club and some other - don't remember the name... Lonely spectator on a bike (not counting me - I moved on) was not very impressed...
So, on 24th of January I fulfilled my plan to run in the Lake Gardens, after which I left my big backpack in the storage camera at the bus station and went to the local museum. The road to the museum (if you want to visit it) should really be taken on taxi. Despite the fact that the distance is not long - about 3.5 km, you otherwise will have to walk on the tiny strap of grass near the really busy highway and you will end up jumping over the half-meter width pits and crossing the road (yes. the same busy road!) without any traffic lights.
The museum seemed to be interesting - first half was about the monoliths - reminding of Stonehenge, then there were local houses with buffalo horns, which contained the bedroom upstairs, and impressed me with the tiny windows without glass.
In the end I made a picture near the house and bought a couple of presents for future couch-hosts -  which until now I didn't meet yet. Edible presents were eaten in Melakka by myself (hungry at night..).

Actually Melakka was my next destination. I took the bus from Seremban station and I wanted to warn you - please double check if you are told by someone that the buses don't go to this direction - there are many companies represented and if one doesn't go - others still can go, so take your time and explore!
On the evening of January 24 I arrived to the fantastic old town of Melakka (Melaca).

Things to do in Seremban:
1. Run, walk, sit, workout - in Lake Gardens.
2. Explore the museum and talk to knowledgeable guide.
3. Look at the old and new stylish buildings and try to find the signs of authenticity.
4. You can also go to Port Dikson -remote beach destination- or Kuala Pilah where you can actually see the original monoliths. This will definitely be an adventure off-the-beaten-track which is probably organized here easier than elsewhere in South-Eastern Asia, because so many people speak English.
