Mekong Delta day 3- Bac Leu

Let me continue in English - not because of any technical problems but just cause I want to!
Today quite short update - only one small town!
So I took a bus from Ca Mau to Bac Leu - the town which proved to be even more far away from normal tourist trail. The minibus was actually quite OK, and locals where immensely surprised that this strange person not only appeared in Ca Mau in the first place but also plans to go to Bac Leu!
My first impression from Bac Leu was.. where to live here?! The central hotel looked soviet and overpriced, and others were...non-existent! I've made a long  walk with the backpack along the main roads and found some really nice looking houses on sides on vast empty streets. On the sea shore they will definitely be hotels. Here they are government buildings.

But of course in the end I found the hotel. I have no idea about its name, but it had a lift, a nice room AND Google translate in the tab of the receptionist, which made our dialogue slightly more productive!
The small town didn't offer something particularly interesting, but tiny Chinese temples were thoroughly studied by me (I was in right mode for investigation!)
These guards exist in every temple -they protect the doors!

Another stone in the yard of temple

Glorious sunset!

The grey building with red roof was well-known for its macho-men owner, who used to prepare food for his lover using money banknotes as fuel!

But the most important part is not about the town itself , but about two stories that happened to me here. First-Bac Leu contains strangely stylish cafe Kitty with fantastic coffee. Here I continued my love affair with coffee - this time the hot one). The small cup, over which a metal structure with condensed coffee - don't be too quick to remove the upper part - the tastiest substance comes later! Coffee is very strong - according to result and to my taste- and quite sweet.
This is it!
Another story - when I came to the cafe for dinner it happened that I joined the corporate party. A group of serious men from the building-and-repairing company invited me to join them. Our conversation only included "Your name? How old? - this one was not easy to understand - their giving of business cards to me (I don't have any nowadays...)- and some comments that frequently appear in men-only company!
Next day I wanted to get to the birds park. But despite the fact that  it is the key attraction of Bac Leu, moto driver didn't know the way. We made it to the birds park eventually, and by that time I probably looked quite lost, so he accompanied me on the way to the park entrance and beyond. He then had some conversation with the guard in the park which resulted in us moving through the dense trees and grass that were happy to attack our legs with sharp needles. After rather pointless but remarkable scrambling through the jungle we returned, looked for birds in the cells, and some crocodiles (probably they are held to regulate the number of birds?). We (OK, he!) also talked to the workers, and I finally realized what does the following gesture mean:  rotating of the hand left-to-right or vice versa which might look like "don't know" to us. In Vietnamese it means "no". The locals tried to call somebody to open the gate at the back of the park headquarters - through which one should go for birdwatching, but they couldn't, or didn't. Anyway we returned with some photos (below) and I had confirmed couchsurfing in Soc Trang!

BIRDS park!

OK, now I see birds

The bus to Soc Trang. Unnecessarily comfortable for just one hour ride, but sooo nice to sleep here!

I'm pretty sure it is possible to visit Bac Leu more efficiently than I did and if somebody could share the experience, I would greatly appreciate it!
See you soon)
